Ecopetrol S.A. will make advance payment of local and international short-term credits

Ecopetrol S.A. (BVC: ECOPETROL; NYSE: EC) informs that it will pay in advance the short-term obligations with local and international banks signed in March and April of this year, under the modality of financed transfers and treasury loans.

The amount of capital to be paid corresponds to COP 775,000 million and USD 221.5 million, respectively, plus the interest accrued from each of the facilities.

This operation is possible thanks to the improvement in the price environment seen in recent months, and the progress in the optimizations implemented to guarantee financial sustainability and maintain the promise of value of the Business Group in the medium and long term.

The advance payment reduces financial expenses, improves leverage metrics and confirms Ecopetrol’s commitment to cash efficiency and capital discipline.
